Will Collins (Beginner to Advanced)
Will began his musical journey on trumpet, but was later recruited for the low brass section on baritone. In high school, he played euphonium with the wind bands and trumpet with the jazz ensemble. This is where he was first introduced to the world of jazz, and it has been one of his main passions ever since.
Recently relocated from northwestern Wisconsin, Will moved to Colorado in June 2017.
In May of 2016 he graduated from the University of Wisconsin Superior with a Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Studies-Performance. He studied trombone and euphonium with Mr. Larry Zimmerman and Jazz with Dr. Greg Moore. In the summer of 2015, Will was one of ten students awarded a research grant. His research project focused on the role of valved low brass instruments in jazz.
In late 2015 up until June 2017, Will taught trombone lessons with the UW-Superior Conservatory. He believes in creating a fun and positive atmosphere in the lesson room, focusing on the student’s interests and passion.
