Frequently-Asked Questions

We're glad you asked!

Is there a lesson cancellation policy?

Yes we do have a 24 hour cancellation policy.  As a courtesy to your teacher, any lesson that is missed or cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be forfeited by the student for the full amount.  Make-up lessons are at the sole discretion of your teacher and their availability.

Each child is different.  The right time to start children on lessons is when they are old enough to grasp musical concepts, and have the patience to sit through a half-hour lesson.

Usually age five is what we recommend, but it could be sooner or later.   At around that age we normally recommend starting on piano.  Other options would be voice, ukulele, or violin.

From our experience starting children out too young could discourage them from trying music again when they get a little older.  We are happy to set up an introductory lesson with your child to see if they are ready for lessons on a regular basis.

At what age can children begin taking lessons?

Children are able to move to 50 minute lessons at ages as young as eight or as old as twelve.  Typically, kids that are around ten years old are ready to take 50 minute lessons.  If you think your child is ready for a 50 minute lesson, ask the teacher and see what they advise.

You offer 30 minute lessons for children.  At what age can they move to 50 minute lessons?

The majority of our students take a lesson weekly. We believe that a weekly lesson gives you the best opportunity for success. Being in contact with your teacher on a regular basis will keep you on track and enable you make steady progress.

There are some students who take lessons twice a week, and there are students who take a lesson once or twice a month. All of those options are available.

How often should students take lessons?

The studio is open when we have scheduled lessons, which could be anywhere from 9am to 10pm. The instructors create their own schedule, which is available for you to view when you book a lesson. Our reception hours are Mon-Fri from 3pm to 7pm. We are closed on Sundays. Feel free to call or email us 303-444-7444 or info@harmonymusichouse.com

When is the studio open?

Lessons are billed one at a time.  So each time you take a lesson, payment is due. Most of our students keep a credit card on file, for convenience.  We accept all major credit cards. You can also pay by cash or check. We DO NOT bill lessons by the month, or on a semester basis.
